| This DVD movie Brick is just one example of someone trying to be smart and not seriously, to be covered by their own claim. I've seen (suffered, suffered, was tortured by) the movie: Brick in Deauville Film Festival Sebtember in 2005 and I can safely say that this was, undoubtedly, and by a large margin, the worst I've seen offered all week and I have to say I struggled to find something worse since then, even when I leave the selection of DVDs to my son 10 years. The Brick Drama is boring, turgid, lifeless and chaotic, it offers no interest or enthusiasm, and was seen by myself as a loss of 110 minutes of my life. If you want to spend some money and waste a few hours, we arrive at a bar, have a drink, believe me you'll enjoy yourself more. If watching the images on a distant wall brilliant offer intellectual stimulation is not without any hint or promise of enjoyment, this is the Brick film for you. For me, too, as a group of voluntary euthanasia, and not a pleasant experience. |
| This film: Brick was awful. Throughout the viewing of this movie, I was trapped inside the child, Jr. High fantasy of a mad 14 years marginalized as he is expected in the role of tough guy. "This shows everyone," he thought, as the hard and strong if it could be just the right reasons. Sure. The characters were one dimensional and their interactions were unrealistic and difficult. The argument was incredibly loose, drawn, too complicated, and does not really come together in the end, though some people may be deceived into thinking that way. The dialogue was painful - clearly copied from old movies. I was cringing throughout the film. And it just kept going and going. I gave her a 2 instead of Jan. 1 because there is something original and a few pieces I thought it was funny. |
| We had high hopes for this DivX Movie Brick trailers and reviews. We had to leave after 30 minutes. Maybe it was just the impression that we saw, but the sound quality was abysmal - too strong, diffuse, and half of the dialogue was incomprehensible (as in: you can not do even with the words, forget what they might mean) . What we could do was clearly trying to be black Raymond Chandler, but it's totally unbelievable that comes from the mouth of unformed and apparently characterless SoCal high school kids. Also many of the scenes were clearly chosen because no one would be around during the filming - not to establish a sense of place, only shouted "we have no budget." The hero could not act his way out of a paper bag. He gave us absolutely no reason to be interested in him, and no reason to believe he had any idea what he was doing, though it was supposed to clear the ball. Very disappointing. Went home and saw Veronica Mars instead. Equally amazing, but much more attractive. |
