| I've never rented a DVD that I had to make several attempts before they see. The hero of the struggle was so painful to me personally I had to take several races in it. I am a little surprised by what I did. Chiwetel Ejiofor as the main character, Mike Terry, is so perfect for the role that the issue was this guy really act? The aim of this film, a tribute to the purity of a certain kind of warrior spirit, is so implausible that I was unexpectedly surprised. David Mamet I thought you were involved in "Spartan," "Heist," "Ronin" and "Wag the Dog," to name a few other movies, is more predictable and conventional. This Redbelt Action movie will probably not a lot of money but it's really a beautiful exploration of the potential for nobility in modern life. If anything, I doubt that a plan like the sequel has been done and it would take a truly extraordinary dash to this little tour de force, but if there is one, do not miss it for the world. |
| I believe that David Mamet has done a great job with this movie. To demonstrate a real art and soul of a true martial artist. This Redbelt Action film is not about training, action and competition. It's more about the life of a man who has his own challenge to the ideals and management turmoil that is happening. This DVD movie Redbelt is also due to its refreshing touch of Brazil. :-) Casting is great, with one exception - Rodrigo Santoro: I personally do not think that was the right choice for the role. Perhaps he was not "dangerous" enough, I do not know, but not the right fit. Otherwise, the script is well written and delivered the message. May not be the greatest movie, but certainly deserves to be seen. |
| I agree with most of the acting is great, however, the direction is awful, even the corners I wonder what I was thinking besides reducing Blase this slow almost boring story at ab film: Redbelt or mowing life. I sat watching this DivX film Redbelt by asking: Mamet has lost or is just recycling "house of cards' again but this time is short ... super certainly a great hero at this time that lack of them .. but I was great throughout the DivX Movie Redbelt and Mamet was not ... i went and i cannot believe the positive comments and I wonder if you saw the same Redbelt Action movie .. esp with so many characters that have large holes and the plots are trite, without benefits except the obvious Great acting in fact, but unless you are renting this i cannot really recommend it because it felt like a Van Damme movie, but with much better, but the actors same direction, if not worse. 5 |
| I hardly see this movie. I have been burned by David Mamet in the past. In fact, I still believe that "Spartan" was the worst movie: Redbelt ever made. But boy did to do with this. The Redbelt Action focuses on Mike Terry, an idealist who runs his own dojo and trains students fighting skills and souls. Mike believes that his wife is addicted to poverty, but in reality, he is addicted to credit. Financial and ethical problems have to do what Mike has never done before, a fight in the competition. The action scenes are great. The international talent is wonderful. The attention to detail, first class. You recognize many of the world of MMA, including Frank Trigg and Randy Couture, but the actor who plays Mike Terry is what makes the Redbelt movie shine, excellent work. Take someone who is not a Mamet Shill, this Redbelt Action movie rocks! |
| I am a big fan of Mamet. I thought the Spanish detainee was really brilliant, and you know a guy who writes well when combined with a great history really terrible acting, but is still very entertaining. "prisoner" was. Spartan was an excellent film, but with a good performance. redbelt mediocre at best. I think the trailer for this DivX film Redbelt make it seem much cooler, for at least 10 degrees, the Redbelt Action movie really is. I do not know why, but the plot of this DVD movie Redbelt is actually relatively simple, but the trailer made me think otherwise (that is why i complicated route as Mamet), and the truth of this argument is simply silly. so the type of DVD movie Redbelt is in the plot for the time and then the final is just abysmal at best. I felt like there was no closure, and all actors were out of balance and there is no connection whatsoever to the plot of the movie, really. this is one of those that I wished I had missed about half of the film, but the whole time I was expecting a change. that never arrived. 5 / 10 at best. |
