| Six months after the suicide of her twin sister Sofie (Elisabeth Harnois), Megan (Elisabeth Harnois) still mourns his death and lost her beloved brother. On the eve of San Juan, Megan travels with his friends Christian (Shawn Ashmore), Zoe (Amanda Seyfried), Mark (Matt O'leary) and Alicia (Hilarie Burton) to his family's house in Nowell Lake, Louisiana, to celebrate the summer solstice. | Well, Solstice is a high-five for a good casting, images, sound and overall atmosphere. Only problem is history. It's the same kind of ghost of a horror story has been a fan gazillion times. And it's a remake! Why? Moreover, in 87 minutes, it felt like hours. Bo-ring. There are red herrings, the shadows of fear, MTV-style flashbacks of the dead, and at the same time, all well done, everything has been done before. Thanks, but no. Myrick had a mediocre film: Solstice (also Believers (V)) and a ruined by a terrible miscast lead actor and an "I-sucker!" end (the objective). At least here, justice will be served and this went straight to DVD where it belongs. Eduardo Sanchez ' "altered" but more of a science fiction horror hybrid in a low budget, is more than all the films mentioned in my opinion. Here is the hope that Myrick (which has a lot of talent), will make a good DVD movie Solstice in the future. |
| I must say I really enjoyed this movie, I thought the performance was really good and the story was good. But I would not say it is a horror DivX film Solstice you can skip a couple of times because they were not ready for something to happen, but nothing of his "fear" in the sense that a large amount of blood or things that are often I would say that the horror DivX film Solstice music and the sound does not affect most of the "frightening", but I would say that is a very good thriller!
