| Joshua Logan screen version of "Paint your wagon" works a treat, perhaps because the original version of the stage is so little known and apparently has been something of a screen-writer by Paddy Chayefsky. The fact that the leads (Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood and Jean Seberg), you can not sing a jota matters not, performing with charisma (Seberg wan is even less than usual) and put a touch of realism to the proceedings , their songs seem to evolve naturally from the action. Other functions are performed by the splendid singing and Harve Presnell awakening, mostly male, for this choir is a kind of Western music more robust "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." This is the plot, which refers to gold mining, polygamy and the construction of a city, rather along the races. Logan is in charge of the whole affair with great aplomb and some good leads, unfortunately lacks affect its previous musical "South Pacific" and "Camelot." | While the DVD movie Paint Your Wagon moves slowly at times, I love this movie. I saw him when he was released and have wanted ever since. While the three stars of the DivX Movie Paint Your Wagon are Jean Seburg, Clint Eastwood and Lee Marivn, Lee Marvin is the main protagonist of the film. The anti-social mining gold is a perfect character for him. Even her voice fits the character, rough and basic. I do not know about anyone else, but at the end of the Paint Your Wagon movie where the character of Lee Marvin, Ben Rumson, is looking for a place where people do not have to, however, I am sad. I am sad because I know the places where people are not even that almost disappeared, although there are still a lot of this type of person around. The music, the lines, Harve Presnell, Ray Walston and Lee Marvin Åre fantastic. The rest of the cast are fine. Harve Presnell would play the father of Miss Parker in The Pretender on television, but this DVD film Paint Your Wagon is young, fixed place with a magnificent celestial voice. Ray Walston is the best practice. Lee Marvin is great. Flat major. I remember reading that his widow said he identified with the character to the best of all its functions. Everyone seems to remember how to sing "Wandering Star," but I remember him singing "The first thing you know." That was perfect for this character. It says it all. If you have not seen this film, however, look with an open mind, without preconceptions, and I think you'll love as much as I do. |
| *** SPOILERS IF SOMEONE **** LE IMPORTA I HATE and music! The Paint Your Wagon film comes in with 'Little Shop of Horrors' and' The Blues Brothers' on the short list of music I really love. Lee Marvin is the one who makes the movie. You could have replaced Eastwood and Seberg with almost any other actor or actress is the performance of Marvin as Ben Rumson this Paint Your Wagon film brings to life. All the way through their facial expressions communicate a lot about his character - for a quick example, see his eyes as he prepares to eulogize Partner brother died at an early stage. Nobody else could have played or partner Elizabeth and do a good job, but Lee Marvin gave us a Ben Rumson I do not think anyone could match. That makes it more fair by their appearance and body comedy that could be expected. Also, Jean Seberg, Harve Presnell, Ray Walston and The Nitty gritty dirt band had musical numbers were great. Women who have come to do what they had not done for, but most men were gentlemen and any error Delt works fast, not as in modern civilization. Then people trusted each other, was on his word and made the simple laws so that everyone can understand without a lawyer. Made their own kind of paradise. When he entered the civilization that had the option of staying or leaving, it's your choice. History, scenery and great music made this movie. Trivia also a great movie, which I was the only Paint Your Wagon film that Clint Eastwood sang in. |
| The first time I saw the movie, I am appalled! I had done in the stage production and almost the only thing that unites the two were the name of Ben Rumson and gold. The stage production of Ben and his daughter, who was wounded by a Spanish. There is no "partner" - Ben is not singing "Wandrin 'Star" - The Spanish sings "Talking to the trees" - I could go on and on. The whole plot is about 95 percent different from the production stage. Even wrote brand new songs from the Paint Your Wagon movie and left some of the wonderful Broadway. I have seen the DivX film Paint Your Wagon several times now, and has won most of the differences (mostly) and enjoy watching. I think the production stage, however, is a much more credible story. Ben does, in fact, win the bid and the discontent of the second wife Morman, no "second husband" ... which does not share it with anyone. There. That's my two cents. |
