By far one of the best pieces Kevin Costner, behind Dancing with Wolves. Costner's hard work (as an actor, director and producer) has paid off handsomely in this finely produced movie. The history of the structure is simple, but the difference comes from the heart that Costner, Duvall Benning and instilled in his characters. I've seen my share of Westerns - good, bad and sucky - and it seems that the genre has fallen out of favor with the current movie-going public. But this Open Range Drama film shows (along with Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven) that if you put a bit of intelligence in the writing, adding first-class actors (Duvall can do no wrong?) And direct it in a way that combines the story, characters and (beautiful) then the public arena is not your movie.

It has been a long time since I've seen a western Open Range Drama film that I thought they really together, but Open Range is one of the best. It seems that the writer may have taken some ideas from movies such as Lonesome Dove, Shane, Pale Rider and Unforgiven. If so, which is woven in a beautiful package. I do not write about the details of a film, because I do not think it would be fair to those who have not seen the DivX film Open Range yet. I will say, however, that Open Range is one of the few westerns that presents a realistic picture of a people sticking together when a crisis and a man ready to lead to what to do.

This is by far the best picture Kevin Costner. In general, his own ego that is required in almost every frame, but here he seems to have resisted and taken a back seat relaxed. With 'Open Range KC led a very smart and work. It also has the lead role in the gritty Robert Duval and I have to say that the picture is much better for him. Eastwood remembers the "Unforgiven", this is a big, epic Western, which has to be considered by the followers of any kind. The shooting weather is as good as anything I've seen and all in all 'Open Range' is a very satisfying experience. One of the best examples of a modern western that reflects very old (but good) values. Not as deep in the score and almost obligatory shots of the landscape.
