| This is a more realistic and reflective of what would happen if humanity can detect an asteroid that could cause devastation to other films of this type - for example Armageddon. It is still very focused on the United States, but at least recognize the presence of other continents in the face of the planet Earth! |
| In general told a story with great special effects that almost manage to avoid falling into a sentimental excess Hogwash. Morgan Freeman is excellent and is the cornerstone of the film. Without it all, it has fallen rather flat. Vanessa Redgrave is also wonderful but I'm not sure that the sub-plots it recently participated in gelled. Téa Leoni, and Robert Duvall are not at their best, and like several of the characters seem smaller cast something wrong and unconvincing in their roles. Nice to see you again but Bruce Weitz. James Horner's music is my main complaint though - must do more! |
| I must say, this was a good movie. Titanic used to be hooked. To tell you how much I really loved Titanic, well, I have seen 26 times! Anyway, I believe that Deep Impact on a scale of 1 to 5, this is a 4.9. There were some errors. As the comet success and all the clouds were swept from the earth. Then it became clear the end of the earth, and there are clouds! Well, it is still a great movie. |
| This is the kind of Deep Impact Sci-Fi film that can change your life. What are the most important problems? I have often wondered. The plundering of the environment? Exponential growth rates in the human population? Difficult to achieve peace in the world? No. None of these. This Deep Impact Sci-Fi film gives perspective. The most annoying problem for our world is fragile. We are ants on a child in the sandbox, pending certain destruction - unless, that is, we acknowledge our blindness and shortsightedness begin to think about issues larger than the news of the shooting last 11 hours. Yes, it is true that a cosmic event like comet impact is unlikely to occur in our lives. No, it's not something we can relegate to the inevitable act of god status. We are thinking, be aware - of much greater value than the crows and the lilies of the land they share with us. As such, we must make use of our cognitive abilities to have a more secure existence. Astronomy and mathematics, a day could identify each and every cosmological disasters in the future of our planet. Quantum mechanics and physics could allow a day with us and our biosphere simply move to another planet. Out goal is sophisticated existence, life in nature. If you do not move quickly on this, will be the greatest insult to our ancestors scientists, from Galileo to Einstein. Now that is what I call a good movie. |
