| There is no doubt the original is much better than Lost Boys, were violent films, with great style, very cool, with vampires. I'm a fan of vampire movies and recommended a friend to see this old Near Dark Western movie of the eighties and I was surprised myself! They are vampires strangers outside the system, trying to survive as foreigners in the city, in the city and his sentence is wanting to establish relationships. Despite the violence, one understands the plight of vampires. The scene at the bar is cold, sometimes I want to to close the eyes, an inspiration for Tarantino. But this is serious movies with good performances of the actors, all filmed in a small town in America, without big budgets, but with a great atmosphere and elegant camera work. |
| Here is another interesting and memorable vampire movie, but it left a bad taste in my mouth, pun intended ..... sort of. In fact, as interesting as it is, is a little too profane, grade and too many unlikeable characters for a nice guy like me to enjoy. The special effects are excellent. Horror movies seem to bring out the best in the FX department. Those are the vampire with a bad attitude (which are not generally nice guys), directed by Bill Paxton the "severe", which is really brutal, over the top, really. He is helped by the department unpleasant Adrian Pasdar, Lance Henriksen and other means the future. Another complaint: too much use of the name of the Lord in vain. The female lead is played by a new face (and interesting): Jenny Wright. In general, if it meant cutting edge these movies, you'll love this. Was written wrong in this. |
| Allthough I am not entirely sure it's a vampire movie, because the word is never used in the film. There are so many things wrong with this movie. First its easy to say that its very low budget, it looks cheap and it is quite wrong. An exception would be the effects of fire when the "vampire" is burned, and that makes much use. I also DISSAPOINTED in which they operate, overacts Paxton, and all others are so boring and mediocre. Another strange thing is the speed of the day changes in the middle of the night in the middle of the day. One example is in the motel, where the younger sister is in her bungalow, Paxton and character and is the father, his half of the night, at least his own darkness. About 2 minutes later when outside the room, suddenly full daylight! There are other examples of this. I also believe that the "vampire" whole attitude really strange, I mean that they do not mind at all if they have shot / burned / hit by a truck or something. And I started in the whole of curing blood transfusion ... In conclusion, this DVD film Near Dark does not make the atmosphere of a vampire film: Near Dark should and is not even a little scary / creepy once. Stay away from this mess at all costs! (3 / 10) |
