Action/war drama based on the best-selling book detailing a near-disastrous mission in Somalia on October 3, 1993 where nearly 100 U.S. Army Rangers, commanded by Capt. Mike Steele, were dropped by helicopter deep into the capital city of Mogadishu to capture two top lieutenants of a Somali warlord which lead to a large and drawn-out firefight between the Rangers and hundreds of Somali gunmen which led to the destruction of two U.S. Black Hawk helicopters in Mogadishu, and the heroic efforts by various Rangers to get to them, centering on Sgt. Eversmann, commanding one Ranger unit named Chalk Four, leading Rangers to the first black hawk crash site, to Warrant Officer Durant who was only survivor of the second black hawk crash site and whom was captured, to Col. McKnight who leads a rescue convoy for the Rangers only to get lost within the hostile city, to Sgt. Sanderson desperately trying to get to the first crash site, to Staff Sgt. Yurek who leads two fellow Rangers, Nelson and Twombly to meet with up their squad, Chalk Four, at the first crash site, to many others involved who where either killed or survived.

I read a few comments about the best war movies (Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, Schindler's List) and a lot of people seem to criticize those who feel patriotic after watching war movies. I myself enjoy war movies because I am not a sadist or anything, but they are being driven by a powerful and excellent image of terrible events. I admit that sometimes I feel a little patriotic, but it has not. Now, Black Hawk Down, but not the best war film: Black Hawk Down said that there was such that the remorse and pain is felt by the soldiers fighting in Somalia. Virtually every war DivX film Black Hawk Down has moments that slightly stylized war (Windtalkers is a perfect example), but with this style are the real horrors he said. When the second helicopter crashed in the Black Hawk Down film and rescue the man was taken as a sacrifice in a ritual I was deeply moved. There were many other points of the Black Hawk Down film that moved me the most recent list of special credit to the soldiers who had died. The direction of this Black Hawk Down Drama film was very good I thought. Ridley Scott was very good with the cameras and I like John Woo also well developed characters. Black Hawk Down, although in some places is a horrifying reminder that some men go to the ends of the earth to fight for his country and beyond. I am convinced that you will enjoy the Black Hawk Down Drama and I hope that by moving soldiers efforts.

This DVD film Black Hawk Down is one of the best I've only watched.Not is exciting and well played, but it also has a moral side to prevail on story.Good evil.It is a true story in real life is happening in Africa. Somalia has a law jungle.It if the poor are the ordinary citizens who suffer.THe United States is always seen as "Big Brother", who wants to get rid of corruption government.The ordinary people suffer much, children.They especially women and do not have basic human rights as the right to lead a normal life.IT is very sad to see what is happening in the United States 21 century.For to do it alone, it is an impossible task.What United nations can do is put more troops to those countries. I would like to see more of these films were made in the future.

I saw this movie: Black Hawk Down with my girlfriend. It was one of the most intense movies I've seen - Two hours of realistic, intense, chaotic urban combat and morale of the greater good, like "Saving Private Ryan." The one in the movie: Black Hawk Down unless it's so tragically realistic than most people think it's just another Hollywood action movie. Perhaps the Black Hawk Down Drama film would have been easier to understand and comprehend, if less "foot soldier" in the field and more political or moral, like trying to see the incident from the opposing side as well.

Black Hawk Down is simply the best representation of the war I've seen (and I've seen many!). It is so realistic, it's as if you were there on the battlefield with the soldiers fighting for their lives and their friends. The comparison is obvious Saving Private Ryan, but BHD is even better, as it remains focused on action all the time and never stops developing the cardboard characters as the first. Ridley Scott clearly knew what he was doing and knew the Black Hawk Down Drama did not need more than just an intense action and consistency to be a real big, classic war movie. Not for the faint of heart, however.
