'Chop Chop' Frankie Carbone (Armand Assante) has made a career out of stealing cars for the mob in Chicago. An attempted assassination by a mob boss goes badly and Frankie retaliates, only to wind up in the hands of the Feds. Frankie agrees to testify against the mobsters and his life is suddenly worthless - unless he submits to going into federal protection. The FBI gives him a new name - Howard Akers - and relocates him to a sleepy middle-class suburb in Little Rock, AR. Howard catches the attention of his lovely neighbor, Leigh (Angela Featherstone), a bored fund-raiser for a non-profit zoo whose husband, Dennis (David Lipper), is having an affair - and she knows it, but she doesn't know it's with her hot-blooded sister, Bootsie (Dina Meyer). Leigh becomes friends with the enigmatic Howard, but Dennis and Bootsie see an opportunity to earn the million-dollar bounty the mob has put on his head by turning him in to the mob.

This is a very good movie. Armand Assante is great and new actors are wonderful. The story is good and fast. The landscape and settings are beautiful. There are some extremely violent scenes that kept this DVD movie Federal Protection from being a theatrical release. We need more moviea Armand Assante.

I agree with previous comments. The films made in the Great White North are an accounting trick, because a) dirt-cheap Canadian dollar and the availability of subsidies - although this may have changed recently, I'm not sure. To do this, what happens is that a producer based in New York or Los Angeles has written a project with the U.S. in mind and local outbreaks Montreal as either New York or Paris. " It is neither, though it is a beautiful city in its own right. This way of structuring the story makes bid, local color, regional accents, all down so that the bottom of its review when it should be near the top. (That's why a DVD film Federal Protection - Woody Allen in Manhattan is just one example - can evoke a time and place better than any other art form, and why all these appear to be transplanted cheapies shot vinyl Palookaville.) Americans and Canadians, both deserve a better movie.

Jesus of this Federal Protection Thriller movie was boring and a half hours seemed like 5 hours and a half.Armand Frank Carbone cut Assante plays a shop worker working for the mafia. but when the mob wants dead Frank Frank is placed on the federal protection. the thing that bothers me was that federal protection was totally boring.Armand Assante is the first bill that have not really see it in the DVD movie Federal Protection Dina Meyer steals most of the DVD movie Federal Protection as a character annoying smart ass. i admit the first 15 minutes of the DivX Movie Federal Protection quite good, but after that I struggled to keep watching it. Fortunately, this was on television so do not lose money buying it.but word of advice if anyone is thinking of buying this Federal Protection movie do not want their time and money. 2 out of 10.
