This Road to Bali movie introduced me to all the "Road to the series. This Road to Bali film shows how the Road to Bali film chemistry never dies. In his sixth Road to Bali film together, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour to show the fun and joy of making films could be. They were friends and the public can see that clearly. As the only Road to Bali Musical in color makes the scenario come to life. The jokes are similar to previous films, but still fun. Get a favor and buy this Road to Bali Musical movie twist.
Road to Bali is one of two or three best in the Hope-Crosby series, and sees the pair retail hot outside and all over Australia to Indonesia, where they are used by divers as a mysterious island princess (do not forget that the Hollywood representation of Balinese culture tends to look more like Hawaii, but is of little consequence, the whole thing is just a stage for Hope and Crosby routine.) When diving into a wreck of the couple are warned about a mysterious sea-god called "Boga-ten ', so Crosby down some hope as a scapegoat - and then finds a giant squid unconvincing. Escape and end up in the clutches of a tribe even more convincing in the hands of none other than General Burkhalter on "Hogan Heroes," who decides to sacrifice to a volcano is the best option ... The comedy is classic "Road" - the couple walk from one situation to another, taking humor potshots at each other, making jokes about the entertainment industry, and occasionally bursting into song. Dorothy Lamour provides for women, love and concern "straight person" for the duo and oneupmanship persistent infantilism. Crosby invariably comes out the winner in the competition for the romantic interest Lamour (seems like the only hope, because it resembles a pet chimpanzee that had as a child.) This is a fun, if something politically incorrect these days, but still holds quite well.
The kids' best, but not their worst. That honor falls to ROAD TO SINGAPORE, ROAD TO HONG KONG with a close second. In his only color output ROAD, Bing and Bob end up in Bali by Australia (do not ask) and go scuba diving for lost treasure. Along the way, they encounter sultry princess Dorothy Lamour, a ship of the ill and a giant squid. The DVD film Road to Bali Sillian and progressively less fun as going to hand, but also contains some price bits (see the flute playing and the segment of children singing and dancing on the lap) and great cameos (including Jerry Lewis appears in a second or two). I suspect that no one under 30 will now give a good goddamn about these images-ROAD fragile and its long-dead stars, and all the fame that made ad libbing. For those who are interested in the faint hope and Crosby, I recommend one of the films to see how these guys could be really funny: ROAD TO MOROCCO, THE ROAD TO UTOPIA ROAD or RIO, in that order. By the way, ROAD TO BALI has been reissued as part of a series of classics of the copyright in films ranging from $ 1.50 each and are available at many discount chains and drugs - and that is how I happened to see this DivX Movie Road to Bali again after many years.
I like all of the Hope and Crosby road pictures even though they were kind of silly. I grew up with them, even saw the hope on stage at the Palace Theater in Cleveland, Ohio in the old vaudeville days (which was also a movie). Still, as simple as they were, they were fun in their own way, and I loved to sing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour in vocaling of amour! The Road to Bali saw on the tube AMC for the umpteenth time and still enjoy it, as always, the music is great and the guys really did not know how to kill it! 6 / 10
From the first Hope and Crosby Road picture was known for his ad-libbing. In fact, when guest on other shows the two of them is inserted the script and some of his own lines to try to catch the other off guard. In this way I swear that picture of the time that children and Dotty Lamour washed ashore on the proverbial island south of the sea, the picture is one long ad lib. I am sure the director said, this situation only makes the plot as you go. That has that kind of spontaneity. Look for 'guest' appearances by Jane Russell, Humphrey Bogart, Martin and Lewis and Bob Crosby in this crazy ride. Dotty said: "I love you Bob, Bing I love you, my heart in a real wing ding." So all of us.
This very slight comedy, Bob and Bing ham it up in the South Pacific in search of women and adventure. The plot, which involves diving sunken treasure is super superficial ... so to speak. But, of course, the Road to Bali Musical film is just an excuse to highlight the talents of the comic and the crooner. And the talent they had. But here, no jokes or songs are memorable. Fortunately, Dorothy Lamour is on hand to spice things up. The sets are somewhat interesting, in an evil sort of way. For me, the real value of the "road" is the prospect of putting movies in the cinema watching. My ... how movies have changed in fifty years, and not necessarily for the better. "Road to Bali" does not fly today ... float or, for that matter. But for lovers of Hope and Crosby, the Road to Bali movie is a pleasant, harmless fun, a reminder of a more innocent, bygone era in the shooting.
The jokes just keep on coming in this "road movie." There are so many gags here, you'll have to see this Road to Bali movie more than once to get them all. Although the story is very simple, games, girls, and especially the amazing Technicolor is to see. The Road to Bali is the medicine for a gray days!
