It is curious to read the comments of those who have not understood perfectly balanced Last Orders Drama movie - but then it's smart and subtle and, in addition to being sad and moving is very funny. Rarely have I seen characters, situations, attitudes and emotions more balanced than in this brilliant jewel of a film. It took me right back to Pom, and in particular the best and most understated pleasures of the place. There were so many treaties sensitivity plots and sub-themes that are difficult to select a special commendation. I think that would be adultery.
This is an old boy of the reunion, as Vic (Tom Courtenay), Len (David Hemmings), Ray (Bob Hoskins) and Vince (Ray Winstone), go on a trip to Margate Pier to dispose of the ashes of friend Jack (Jack is played in flashback scenes of several of Michael Caine, Helen Mirren, while his wife Amy). During the journey we can see several pieces of conflict between the four men and a witness to many events of his life in retrospect - Vince's decision not to continue to trade in his family butcher; fleeting romance with Amy Ray, Vince Len's daughter get pregnant . We also see something of Jack and Amy's marriage, from their first meeting and flirting for the comfort of a long association. The fact that a severely disabled daughter, June, both separately and together keeps it interesting. As a Last Orders Drama 'Last Orders' old feel comfortable. The performance of managers is guaranteed and, as such, we are dragged along the plot, however improbable it may be casual and at times. None of the characters are cliches, and all are welcome to some extent - we can see how the events of the past have done what they are now. Shamefully put in theaters in a limited distribution, "Last Orders" is a new life when he became a free gift of a regular DVD in the UK, which meant that it was potentially available to a wider audience (which makes me Asked if, in fact, the use of these developments could be left to the movies that quickly left theaters in general).
This is the action of a higher order of British dream cast. The pace is slow, sad tone, the trip well worth it. Why no Oscar nominations? This is so des-Hollywood, is a balm for adults who want to see the cream of British talent.
This Last Orders Drama movie is based on a novel by a man named Swift, but instead of being a biting satire, is a Last Orders film that only a person with a heart of stone could sit through wihtout breaking into tears. Although the novel was widely praised for his experimental style, is the tenderness and humanity that make this DVD movie Last Orders memorable. Wonderfully acted by Michael Caine, Helen Mirren, Bob Hoskins and others, tells the story of a London butcher's journey to his final resting place and a complete picture of his life gradually attracted to people who have been there. its history spans 70 years of British history, which is lovingly recreated, but the personality that are on strike rather than historical facts that shape their lives. The film: Last Orders has moments of almost sublime beauty and pathos. It is a DVD film Last Orders that reminds us that, no matter how trivial it seems our lives, we still have an impact on those around us. Those of us who bemoan the decline of British cinema in a quagmire of Gangster movies and rom-com cover this DivX film Last Orders as a lost relative.
